Life on Hold is a moving story of understanding, empathy, and maturity as 15-year old Rae and her nomadic mother each have some expanding up to do. Forced to move to a new spot pretty much every year, Rae desperately wants roots, a sense of loved ones, and a place to belong. Even though she tries to make herself invisible and remain out of difficulty, two seemingly insignificant incidents lead to her becoming paired with a troubled new student. As Rae reluctantly shows Allison around the school and introduces her to her two good friends, she definitely just desires to finish this duty and go back to her typical routine, but Allison's stories don't add up and Rae is curious to find out the truth of Allison's traumatic past. Rae and her mother reach out to Allison and try to assist her to heal and Rae lastly permits herself to each be a fantastic friend and to open up alot more to other people. Helping Allison also enables Rae and her mother to face some lengthy-lasting troubles in their relationship and to reach a new understanding of one another. Amazing character development and growth, realistic dialogue, and a touching storyline. Highly advocate!

This is a different terrific book by the Author. All of her books are outstanding if you appreciate a superior story about daily life with good characters, and her newest is no diverse. This particular story would be terrific for the highschool age on up. I wish there had been even more stories like this back when I was younger. I appreciate her character of Rae and how empowered she made her. I purchased the Kindle version and the formatting was wonderful. I can't wait for more of her books, they have turn into a have to read for me.
