Life on Hold is a moving story of understanding, empathy, and maturity as 15-year old Rae and her nomadic mother both have some growing up to do. Forced to move to a new place practically every year, Rae desperately desires roots, a sense of loved ones, and a spot to belong. Even though she tries to make herself invisible and stay out of difficulty, two seemingly insignificant incidents lead to her being paired with a troubled new student. As Rae reluctantly shows Allison about the school and introduces her to her two good friends, she truly just desires to finish this duty and go back to her standard routine, but Allison's stories don't add up and Rae is curious to find out the truth of Allison's traumatic past. Rae and her mother reach out to Allison and attempt to assist her to heal and Rae finally permits herself to both be a superior buddy and to open up extra to others. Helping Allison also enables Rae and her mother to face some lengthy-lasting problems in their relationship and to reach a new understanding of 1 an additional. Awesome character development and growth, realistic dialogue, and a touching storyline. Very advocate!

This is an additional awesome book by the Author. All of her books are great if you love a very good story about daily life with outstanding characters, and her newest is no distinctive. This certain story would be awesome for the highschool age on up. I wish there had been even more stories like this back when I was younger. I really like her character of Rae and how empowered she made her. I bought the Kindle version and the formatting was amazing. I cannot wait for a lot more of her books, they have develop into a ought to read for me.
