Buyer Evaluations

I'm not an nearly middle aged divorcee, but novelist LC Evans gave me a detailed snapshot of what it can be like in this delightful novel, We Interrupt This Date, set in Charleston, SC. The Divorcee, Susan Caraway, has to understand how to reinvent herself following nearly 20 years of marriage to a self-centered controlling husband. As if thats not enough to hold her busy Susan has a codependent sister, slightly spoiled son, and an overly controlling mother, not to mention a squirrelly boss and a friend from the past who just might arouse in her some old emotions.
I think anybody who is from the south, or knows an old fashioned southern family members will specially enjoy this book. That being stated if you happen to be not from the south you still have to read this book as a great chance to understand, laugh, and cry. Expanding up in the south myself I was unquestionably in a position to connect and relate to most of the characters in the book. For example: Susan's overly controlling mother..... we all know somebody like that..... do not we?
Devoid of giving away something, rest assured there are lots of surprises and plot twists to maintain you reading non-cease from get started to finish. There is also a lot of laughter and drama woven with each other for balance.
LC Evans' writing style is hilarious and I identified myself laughing out loud at least the moment in every chapter. If this book were a film it would have as a great number of a single liners as Steel Magnolias or Sordid Lives. And if it were a Television show, move over Designing Women... all the lady characters have sass. As a matter of truth I think this book would translate well to the silver screen, or as a tv series. All LC Evans needs is for a person like Oprah to find out We Interrupt This Date and she'll be on her way to the NY Occasions bestsellers list just before one particular can get out a single of her one particular liners. I have one particular question for you, LC Evans have we heard the last of Susan Caraway or will we be blessed with a sequel detailing her adventures with loved ones, friends, spooky new job, and of course.... Appreciate!

Plot/Storyline: five Stars
Firmly entrenched in the Chick Lit genre, the plot of this book is extremely entertaining, mainly for the more than thirty crowd. The storyline was humorous with no stretching the envelope in a blatant try to be funny.
Though there is a romance involved, it is without a doubt not the center of the story, nor is it even the center of Susan's life. I adore the way Susan's thoughts drifted to romance only when suitable for them to do so.
Character Improvement: four 3/4 Stars
Susan's character was wonderfully drawn. She was appealing and likable with an exciting personality.
Susan's really enjoy interest could have made use of a small even more fleshing out. I would have liked to see a little a lot more of him to get a handle on his motivations.
Writing Style: five Stars
Dialogue is a important robust suit of this author. Her descriptions were right on target, succinct, yet picturesque.
Editing/Formatting: 4 three/4 Stars
There were a couple of editing errors, but not adequate to ruin the reading knowledge. There were sizeable sections that were indented for no apparent reason causing swift page turns, but this was not rampant throughout, just occasional.
Rating: PG for Adult Circumstances
